Advanced Networks for Mission Critical Communications

Tachyon's network delivers benefits that are unmatched in the industry. Unlike virtual network operators, the Tachyon network is facilities-based, so we control and manage the entire network and can instantly address any technical issues. Our engineers are globally renowned network experts, who are well-versed in the intricacies of network architecture and operations thus ensuring that your existing systems integrate easily, from end-to-end.

Tachyon maintains fully redundant carrier grade facilities, infrastructure and network management systems, which enable us to provide the best connectivity available, on a global basis. We couple geostationary satellites with our aXiom Service Platform (ASP) technology to deliver extremely high availability broadband networks.

Airborne Networks

Our primary objective is to build and operate networks that enable our customers to deliver successful aircraft missions. Their airborne networks require access that is seamless, convenient and as natural and ubiquitous in-flight as it is on the ground.

Tachyon’s airborne solutions development process begins with assessing and fully understanding Customer requirements including aircraft type, the nature and duration of flight missions, and the in-flight applications requiring network services. Tachyon engineers and business professionals work collaboratively with our Customers to develop network designs, technology solution implementation plans and ongoing network operating models tailored to specific needs and requirements.

Ordinarily our industry focuses on plain and simple bandwidth metrics (i.e. Mbps or MHz) in describing network services, and pays short shrift to the real requirements of network management. Managing airborne networks presents unique challenges, and requires a different, usually unnoticed inter-dependent set of services, underlying capabilities and policies to deliver Customer specified levels of network availability and performance.

  • Customer Premise Equipment (CPE)
    • Provides remote customer LAN connection to the Tachyon high-speed network
    • Supports all tiers of network service with a variety of hardware options
    • Delivers enterprise grade network performance and reliability and meets or exceeds stringent criteria for raw performance, availability, service and support, and overall quality
  • Satellite
    • Consists of top tier geostationary satellite capacity
  • Gateway
    • Joins with remote CPE over commercial geostationary satellites
    • Connects applications running on headquarters servers and LAN with remote locations through the public Internet or private fiber backbone
    • Integrates satellite network with primary terrestrial networks using industry standard protocols
  • Network Operations Center (NOC)
    • Provides 24x7 support via highly-trained personnel and state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities
    • Tracks a wide range of network activity, settings and conditions in real time
    • Monitors network status and performs network and service upgrades
